Why choose us

Ocean Therapy was created by Lisa Wallace (she/her), to provide
supportive therapy services for people experiencing fertility, pregnancy,
and postpartum challenges. Lisa attended the University of British
Columbia in Vancouver, BC on an academic scholarship and
graduated from their Occupational Therapy program.

After working as an occupational therapist at BC Women’s Hospital
with premature infants and their families, she moved to England to
continue her work, and received a work visa to fill a specialized role
working with individuals experiencing perinatal or postpartum health
and wellness challenges.

Professionally, upon returning to Vancouver Canada, she continued
her occupational therapy work with Vancouver Coastal Health and
Providence Health. Personally, she experienced her first of many
pregnancy losses, and started to undergo the first of numerous fertility
procedures and treatments, which affected her own perinatal and
postpartum health.

After the birth of her second child, she started leading pregnancy loss
support groups, and she was again reminded of how many families are
left dangling during the most challenging times in their lives. Her
most recent professional work has been supporting new parents who
are facing postpartum and parenting struggles and striving to find the
balance of nurturing their child’s needs while not neglecting their own
health.

Lisa’s professional and lived experiences have provided her with
empathy and understanding of perinatal and postpartum health and
motived her to create Ocean Therapy. Welcome.

What we've done
for our clients

thoughtfulness helped me
profoundly during my
postpartum period
following a complicated
pregnancy and birth.”

“Lisa’s helped me navigate
options for fertility and
provided true understanding
of what I was going through
which was invaluable as I
felt very alone during this
time.”

Michelle, 42

“Lisa’s focus on my maternal health was such a refreshing change as my health was being neglected by doctors and all the unrealistic pressures put on new moms.”
